Functionality You Will Love
YourFamily is a community-driven team dedicated to empowering parents with knowledge and skills in child development, health, and safety. By focusing on strengths and resilience, they enhance the parenting journey through various activities, including wellbeing sessions and one-on-one support, while working closely with Southend Family Centres, Health Visitors, and local groups.
City Family Explorers is our creche/childcare service to support parents to take part in and access a range of activities from education to wellbeing course. City Family Explorers also run the ABSS Parent, Family and Community Hub at SAVS, a welcoming space that provides play and development sessions to local families. The City Family Explorers creche service is also available for private hire for events such as weddings and corporate settings.
Talking Transitions collaborates with early years settings and schools to support parents, children, and practitioners in preparing for school. Originally centred on speech, language, and communication, the project has expanded to include numeracy and emotional readiness, and is delivered by specialist teachers who are also Communication and Language advisors.

DadsConnect is our peer-led initiative for fathers and male carers, providing essential resources and information to support them on their parenting journey. The programme offers opportunities to connect with other local dads and participate in activities designed by fathers, while also contributing to pioneering national work on effectively engaging with fathers, especially those facing multiple disadvantages.
